One of the available extra’s in Dietitian Nikki’s practice is the Grocery Store Tour/Supermarket Tour. This is a one on one opportunity to take a personal concierge Dietitian with you to the grocery store. Now, why would this be helpful? Dietitian’s go through extensive training and years of education before they can sit for the national examination to become a Registered Dietitian. This is in addition to the 1200 supervised practice hours they have to complete in a very competitive dietetic internship program. Some even go back to school again to obtain a Masters Degree. Dietitian Nikki did a total of 8 years between her undergraduate program, coordinated program, and masters program!! Why am I telling you all of this? Dietitians are one of the BEST resources you can have alongside you when walking through a grocery store because they are full of knowledge about food and nutrition. In a grocery store tour, you can ask all of your questions, show exact products that you were wondering about, learn about reading food labels on the actual foods you consume, and have the most trained person by your side to help guide the way while you are there. This is a major time saving tip, since you get to go through the knowledge at the same time as shopping, and come home feeling confident and assured that you picked some of the best options the store had to offer. These are completely catered to you, so it can meet any dietary needs for allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, you name it and it can be customized to you and your grocery budget.
